Baby Jogger has become a favorite brand for many families. Many of their products have attractive and luxurious features without the hefty price tags that other brands come with, and they are built to last!

Baby Jogger began in 1984 when founder Phil Baechler invented the first jogging stroller, and although the company only carries one jogging stroller now (the Summit X3, only available as a single stroller), the name persists.

There are five different Baby Jogger double stroller options currently available; read on to find out which one is right for you and your family!

City Tour 2 Double Stroller: The “Ultra Compact” Option

This Baby Jogger double stroller is ideal for traveling lightly with two little ones.

Price: $399.99

Color Options: Jet(black), Seacrest (navy).

Specs:

  • Supports children from birth to 33 lbs. (about age 3).
  • Weighs 23 lbs.
  • Measures 26.1” wide.

What we like:

  • Sooo easy to put together!
  • It feels nice and light compared to many other double strollers.
  • Super easy to maneuver around with! The narrow width lets you pass through most doorways.
  • The seats recline to a near-flat position and the well-padded calf supports adjust upwards, so you can practically turn this thing into a bed for those precious stroller naps!
  • Features a full coverage canopy that is super sturdy and doesn’t fall off or bend like other lightweight stroller canopies tend to do.
  • Has a magnetic peekaboo window on the top.
  • It’s super easy to collapse and fold with one hand, and there’s an automatic locking mechanism that keeps it shut (yay!). It is also REALLY compact when folded, and fits nicely in the trunk!
  • Easy to wipe down and clean. (Find out how to clean a stroller like a pro!)
  • And finally, this Baby Jogger double stroller is just pretty to look at!

What we don’t like:

  • Since this Baby Jogger double stroller not car seat compatible, you have to either purchase the carry cot for newborns ($99 extra) or let the baby sit right in the stroller seat and facing away from you.
  • Kiddos outgrow this stroller more quickly than others since the max weight for each seat is only 33 lbs.
  • The City Tour doesn’t come with the same great suspension features that make other Baby Jogger double strollers so comfortable over bumps, so it’s best to stick to paved terrain with this one.
  • The handlebar doesn’t adjust, so taller people might find it a little uncomfortable.
  • The storage basket is small and has a narrow opening.

City Mini 2: The “Everyday” Option

This Baby Jogger double stroller performs well on paved roads and in congested areas.

Price: $499-$519

Color Options: “Jet” (all black), “Slate” (black with gray seats), “Carbon” (black with gray seats).

Specs:

  • Supports children up to 50 lbs. in each seat.
  • Weighs 32 pounds.
  • Measures 29.75” wide.

What we like:

  • Same easy assembly as other Baby Jogger models; you mostly just have to remove some packaging and push the wheels into place.
  • Feels super sleek, and it’s easy to navigate even in congested areas.
  • Same easy one-step folding system.
  • Same great seats that fold almost flat and have adjustable calf supports.
  • Same great giant canopy, each with two peekaboo windows, ideal for those little nappers!
  • Nice and slim, and fits through most doorways. This Baby Jogger even fits the requirements for strollers at Disneyland & Disney World!
  • Accessories! This “everyday” stroller is the easiest to make your own. You can get car seat adapters for many major brands like Graco and Maxi Cosi, prams, a parent console, a child tray, a glider board and more.
  • She’s another pretty one!

What we don’t like:

  • The Baby Jogger City Mini Double works best on paved roads; the wheels don’t move well through rough terrain. That being said, it performs better off-road than most other double strollers will!
  • The handlebar doesn’t adjust. You’ll have to go with the GT Double (more on that stroller next!) for that feature.
  • Although the one-step fold is amazing, it would be great if the stroller could stand on its own when folded up.
  • That storage basket isn’t doing any better with this model. It’s just too difficult to access. There is a metal crossbar on the newest models that make it even trickier to store large items.
  • You can’t add two infant car seats, so this isn’t the best stroller for newborn twins unless you’re okay with one of them facing away from you (or you can splurge for two prams).

This Baby Jogger double stroller handles off-roading better than its other models.

Price: $599

Color Options: “Jet” (all black) and “Slate” (black with gray seats).

Specs:

  • Supports children up to 50 lbs. In each seat.
  • Weighs 36 pounds.
  • Measures 29.5” wide.

What we like:

  • Once again, we love the easy assembly of this Baby Jogger double stroller! You’ll be strolling within 15 minutes of taking it out of the box.
  • Easy to push and handles beautifully, even with big kids along for the ride.
  • Reclines really well and the canopy provides excellent coverage.
  • Although this stroller isn’t going to handle all terrains with ease (for example, soft sand), the rubber tires are super durable and do well in most places.
  • It features the same great folding system you’ll find across the Baby Jogger line.
  • The hand brake is easy to use and a nice change of pace from the usual foot brakes that come standard with most double strollers.
  • It’s beautiful to look at…oh Baby Jogger, you sure have the aesthetics piece down pat!
  • What about longevity??

What we don’t like:

  • The storage basket is still awkward; it can only be accessed from the sides, which isn’t so convenient.
  • Baby Jogger doesn’t make car seat adapters for major brands like Britax and Chicco for their double strollers.
  • When you do add a car seat, the canopy can become unusable if the seat is too wide.
  • Other accessories such as the child tray and weather shield also aren’t available for the double.

Price: $679.98

Color Options: “Jet” (all black), “Slate” (black with gray seats) “Paloma” (lilac gray and black), “Moonlight” (purple/gray and black), “Lagoon” (blue/gray and black), “Carbon” (black with gray seats).

  • Seat holds toddlers 25-45 lbs.; pram accessory holds babies up to 25 lbs.; glider board accessory holds up to 45 lbs.
  • Weight varies according to the accessories in use, but the base option of the City Select stroller with a second seat comes in at 43 lbs.
  • Measures 25.75” wide.

What we like:

  • This Baby Jogger double stroller boasts 16 different seating configurations, making it appropriate for every combination of young babies/children you can imagine! Face them away, face them toward you, face them toward each other, do one of each…the possibilities are endless!
  • Tons of car seat adapter options across the major brands.
  • The handlebar telescopes so that you can adjust it for your height.
  • Super simple to fold, and there is a latch to lock it in place for storage.
  • Same great sun canopy that you see across the Baby Jogger brand.

What we don’t like:

  • The add-ons can get expensive, and you’ll need them if you truly want this stroller to grow with your family.
  • Depending on the specifics of your kiddos, your car seat brand, etc., you will find that some of the advertised configurations may be cramped or not work at all.

City Select LUX Baby Jogger Double Stroller

Everything the City Select double stroller has to offer, along with some amazing upgrades!

Price: $799.99

Color Options: “Granite” (black), “Port” (maroon and black), “Slate” (black with gray seats), and “Taupe” (dark gray-brown).

Specs:

  • Seat holds toddlers 25-45 lbs.; the pram accessory holds babies up to 25 lbs.; glider board accessory holds up to 45 lbs. The bench seat accessory will hold children up to 65 lbs.
  • Weight varies according to the accessories in use, but the base option of the City Select stroller with a second seat comes in at 43.5 lbs.
  • Measures 25.75” wide.

What we like:

  • The improved LUX offers even MORE seating combinations (20!) with the addition of the bench seat accessory, which isn’t compatible with the previous model of the City Select.
  • The suspension, as well as the wheels, are built better on the City Select LUX, making the ride feel smoother.
  • The brake system in this Baby Jogger double stroller is unlike any we’ve seen! You can pull the hand brake firmly to park the stroller, or you can give it a lighter squeeze to apply the brakes slowly, as if you were biking.
  • Again, the LUX offers car seat adapters for most major brands.
  • Easy to fold, and folds WAY smaller than the original! And, the LUX locks automatically for storage.
  • LUX has a shopping tote accessory ($49.99) that is basically a shopping bag attached to the front of your stroller; this is a dream for city parents because it gives you a spot to put up to 10 lbs of groceries, Target goodies, or whatever it is you want to haul around!
  • We know looks aren’t everything, but they do count for something! The LUX manages to be even more attractive than the original with its sleek colors and more durable-looking fabrics.

What we don’t like:

  • As with the original, the add-ons really add on to the starting price!
  • Some of the configurations are still cramped even with the improvements made in the LUX version.

That completes the Baby Jogger double stroller roundup! There is something for every family needing a double, whether your priority is going lightweight, getting off-road, or having the flexibility to mix up the seating arrangements. Happy strolling!
