Meet Sandra Gordon
Hi, I'm Sandra, mom of two and author of Consumer Reports Best Baby Products (the 8th, 9th and 10 editions) and the gear advice site, BabyProductsMom.com. As a BabyQuip Quality Provider, I work independently to provide top-rated value, premium and quality baby gear and personal customer service to you and your family. I serve Westport, CT as well as other locations throughout Fairfield, Litchfield and Dutchess counties, and provide stroller, car seat and Pack 'n Play service to New York City travelers and grandparents.
I've been researching, writing and talking about baby gear on since 2002, when Consumer Reports called, looking for a writer-mom to take over their Consumer Reports Best Baby Products franchise. Who knew there would be so much to learn about baby gear because there are so many options? It's a multi-billion dollar industry.
Fun fact: Before reality TV became so popular, I got a taste of it as a baby safety expert on six episodes of Make Room for Baby, which ran on the Discovery Health Channel. The gist of the show? While dad and mom zoomed off to the hospital to give birth, the design team swooped in to decorate the nursery in the couple's home. At the last minute, I'd arrive to make sure the nursery passed my safety inspection. I'd point out, for example, that those cute decorative shadow boxes on the wall were low enough to become stair steps for a soon-to-be-curious toddler. Uh oh! Fall hazard!
The upshot? Baby products, including the latest trends, safety aspects and helping people select the best products for their lifestyle, itinerary or guests--have become a sort of passion project.
