4.87 “We recently rented a SNOO bassinet from Tatiana when we were staying at a Disney resort with our infant for two nights, and the experience was not the best. The actual item that we rented was not in good working order, so it ultimately felt like a waste to have rented with her, particularly since the Orlando area has so many providers renting similar products. First, the SNOO itself looked like it had seen better days when we received it. All of the white mesh was looking yellowed, and simply didn't look like an item that had been well-taken care of. Second, the mattress that was provided in the SNOO was not the standard SNOO mattress, but rather a replacement from a generic brand. It was much softer than the standard SNOO mattress and clearly not the same thing. While this might not matter with some other products, it does matter for the SNOO, which is an FDA-regulated item and only approved to be used with SNOO-specific parts. Not providing an actual SNOO mattress could be a safety issue, and is something that should be disclosed before the rental begins. Most importantly, however, the SNOO simply did not operate as intended. The SNOO bassinet has two key functions: motion and sound, which work in concert to soothe an infant. When motion increases when a baby is fussy, so does sound. When we first turned on the SNOO to use it our first night, we were so disappointed to find that it had no sound, just motion. We were glad we had brought a separate travel sound machine with us to use, but since the SNOO reacts to outside noise (often thinking it is coming from the baby), it couldn't be put close to the SNOO or at the normal volume for white noise without confusing the SNOO's motion, so it was not an optimal set-up at all. I alerted Tatiana to the issue the next morning, and while she was responsive about it, and offered a couple of suggestions to try to fix it (which were pretty basic, such as simply unplugging the SNOO and plugging it back in), we didn't see any way to fix it. She also suggested that maybe a prior renter had changed settings on the unit, but also told us not to connect to wifi in the hotel, which would have been the only way to check the settings. The provider should be checking things like this after every rental and making sure the bassinet is back to baseline for the next customer. I also found, as I've seen a few other people mention, that Tatiana wasn't the most user-friendly with meeting times. I've rented from Baby Quip before, and always found providers to be great and accommodating about setting up a mutually convenient time for drop-off/pick-up in the windows we had pre-selected and that they had accepted from the time we reserved the item. However, Tatiana definitely seemed more focused on her own schedule of rental drop-offs than accommodating the agreed schedule. For example, at the end of our stay, we had chosen a 10:00 am-12:00 pm pick-up time, and she texted the night before making it clear that she'd prefer to pick the SNOO up sooner, since that would work best with her personal schedule of pick-ups and drop-offs at nearby hotels. It created a sense of pressure, particularly since it was followed by a text shortly after 9:00 am that next morning to say that she was already waiting in our hotel parking lot for the SNOO. There's a way to communicate that you'll be in the area early IF that works for the customer, without creating pressure for an early pick-up, and Tatiana didn't quite hit that tone well. I will say that Tatiana was always very nice and responsive via text before and during our trip, which was a pro of working with her. However, the cons that I expressed above would not make me interested in renting from her again next time we are in that area.”
